OK, I might be missing something REALLY basic here but bear with me. The 555 supports pattern copy, and that's easy enough - but how does one go back and edit patterns that have been recorded?

And if we CAN'T go back and edit patterns that have already been recorded, why have a pattern copy feature? I don't need the identical pattern on the 555 on 2+ pads.

Checked the manual, did a forum search, couldn't find "pattern edit" or anything similar help helpy help help help?

I know you can erase recorded parts so you can use pattern copy to create variations or remove parts but i was wondering the same thing earlier...

yeah vary basic. but that's OK.

you record a pattern of kicks snare hats and sample. right?

so maybe you want to change up the sample part. make a copy. and you just have to go back into the copied pattern. just like recording into it. once your in the record mode, just erase the sample parts and then start to record your new sampled parts. if you do a few copies, then you just have to repeat the process. its like recording multiple patterns, but instead of re-recording the drums 5 times, you can just make 5 copies. then you can also go back into some of them and add a snare or kick here and there. by the time you read this you probably already figured it out. if that does not clear it up, then hit me up and i will go into detail. to early in the morning for all that. you'll pick it up fast. i just sold my 555 a few weeks ago, had it since the day it came out. so i remember a lot about it. but i still got a 505 and 303. one

WOW, I'm a dumb guy. I figured pressing "Pattern Select + Rec" would only let me choose (lit) pads that don't already have patterns recorded.

Of course, it didn't occur to me to actually TRY before squealing to the forum for help; my bad.
