You got yourself a nice collection of kumgfu samples there. I like the overall coherence of the album but I would like to hear more elaboration on the beat programming and more variation in the beats as such. Now it sounds more like a collection of skitz (nice ones no doubt), but I would like to hear more beats.
I listened your album a few more times and I can only say one thing PROPS. I guess it clicked for me, this stuff is soooo dope. Could you please give more info on the production process, how did you record, did you do all the editing on the 404? I learned one thing, never give feedback on the first listen.

Thanks you guys!!Really appreciate the feedback.I bassicly sampled and sequenced all of it on the 404.I would start with a drum break chop it up by settin my mark then reasmpling just the kick then the snare etc....then i would do the same with the melodic samples and what not. Then i would just make a drum pattern and do the flying lotus technique(copy save pattern trick) for a bunch of pattern then just lay my samples over the drums! Then once i had all my patterns i would record it into soundforge and then master it in t-racks.as u can tell some of the tracks the loops are kinda of choppy but some arent cuzz i learned its best to have the gate and loop button off when u do ya patterns! So u really have to chop very precise and know where your end of the chops are gonna cut off at.Sorry for goin on lol but ya i love the 404 it puts the fun in makin beats!the efx and resampling is where the 404 really shines!thanks again for checkin this out guys
yeh, i hardly ever use the gate and loop function when im sequencing. It just doesnt work.
Although i just saved up enough for a mpc1k, which i think will compliment the 404 perfectly. the effects on the 404 are some of the best, just so many options...
anyways, i noticed that your quite fond of the "vinyl sim" effect, judging by your tracks...

Impressive to do all this stuff with the SP, your MPC joints should be off the hook. I had a song by song break down saved, but I seem to have lost it. Basically, you need to tone down the bass on some of the tracks. Even with my sub turned down, some of the songs were much too bass heavy ie. shaolin dummy. Some of the vocal samples got annoying too, like "she is beautiful", but I'm guessing that was unavoidable with the sample. Shaolin Jokester was extremely dope. You should give this to RZA.

just wanted to say again, props, i played this several times and i'm gonna burn it for my car. really nice work. if you dig instrumental albums, check out www.excommence.com, that's my mpc1000 debut. way different from what you got going on, but i think you might dig it.
again, this is very inspirational, and makes me want to make a mixtape of only 404 beats...
peace man, keep posting tunes because i dig em
