MIIT: another epic entry! Its like a musical journey and your production is always clean and crisp! Could you share a few tips as to how you process the samples?

Kel: loved this one, i was just gutted it didnt last longer! I’ve also got a couple if dolls I’ve built some DIY Oscillators/noisemakers in!

tough tough call here but the last U_J_F_R beat and 0:20 on of Kel404 absolutely blew me away so they snagged my votes. honorable mention to SLEEPS, loved when you let that skull snapping break ride around 1:20. so much talent on display in all entries tho. a real honor to be in the same battle as y'all!

Obviously I have a knack for anything that's not quantized and polished so I went with kudos. The change up in the beat solidified it for me. Plus that picture is a moment to remember

You guys buildem like your fallen-to-software idols used to do it on hardware. Very dj Shadow & precisely cut. You get this hifi sound with the dirtiest gear. Dunno how you guys do it.. maybe just more effort than the rest of us?

Funny you should say that. He's just asked me to remix a track off of an album he's done with some yank lass.

303 ain't dirty, lol. It's warm and 'round' if anything. One of the reasons I love it and came back to it from the P-6 is that you can sample and resample over and over on 21khz without losing any real noticeable fidelity.
Any effort I make is in the arrangement, if anything. My style is obvs to collage rather than flip, so once the samples I like are in tune with eachother, I'm off to the races. Sound-wise I don't add much more than a bit of MFX13 EQ and occasional reverb/delay, which is probs why it retains hi-fiability. I wasn't around for the peak 2010s SX era as anything other than an observer, so the lo-fi thing passed me by...

I'm not a big fan of voting either. But it has to be done.

MIIT definitely gets things sounding clean and crisp! I always feel like my tracks are muddy and i do very little mixing, just the odd EQ, delay and now on the mk2 plenty of pitch shifting, which i used to do with the djfx on the OG so the pitch on mk2 has been great! I also rarely chop the breaks and just use them as is, often with delay for variation!
