spbb351 POLL

Post by Jaytreaze »

Great turnout everyone, been a while since I've seen this many entries. For Tao's entry I've timestamped the vote to be based on 8.40 to the end of the video for fairness. Good stuff everyone. 1 Vote each, vote open for 4 days. GOOD LUCK.

All have some dope elements. Asha or Ryba for the complexity of it all. In the end I went with Asha. Dope composition on that. Ryba had those haunting parts in the background pure fire.

None was my cup of tea. But anyway... Voted for Green Dutch. This one seemed to me most standing out, creepy in experimental way which i liked and it held together. Maybee it was due to video, maybee not. Anyway video was glued to that track and it gave it another dimension just to emphasize it's core.

My go to is (and always be) overall composition against sound design, that's how i hear it..

All have interesting elements..
I chose Soyoto for the strange, on the cool side, kick. Can you tell me, how you create it?

@k.loor sidechaining the kick isnt exactly a legit feature but here's nonjurors vid on how to get the dips https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uHO2qLG ... l=Nonjuror

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=44zKKTk ... el=PupLuka

heres another one i watched few years ago, pretty much put comp on kick and sample, mess around with their vol settings and the effect parameters:)

Do you know if this guides can be used on a 505?
I have tried in the past to do this, with the difference that i have apply comp mfx in all pads. It seemed to me like the volume is going up and down something that i don't like it. But as understand Nonjuror says to apply the fx only in the kick and in the sample. I will try again..

@k.loor try the vinyl sim if ur on the 505, record a beat with the kicks a bit louder than the sample/turn the sample vol down. Then play the beat on the 505 w vinyl sim on, I cant remember where I read it but something about the 505 vinyl sim might be able to emulate that effect. mess about with the comp though see what works best.

PS guys polls not far from closing:)

We each provide an element everyone goes at it again using only these samples with whatever tricks you come up with for mixing.

I got the drums https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qTu8QCL7soQ

Ryba, Soyto check in with your samples. We extend on another round.Lets invite friends. Sounds good?

Sounds good, next person picks sample or bass sound? Same rules as before and then I’ll get a poll up
