mamma mia, whut a battle...

I didn't expect that much participants. 9 abba killers in here, that's really cool... Everyone of you did a great job. I seriously can say I like all the beats.

In the end it was a decision between the Count and MattB (again)
I felt like I had to give to the Count cause No24 was really close but I just can't do it man... Your track was pure dope no doubt. I love how that joint is build up. Your sound creation is always so genius but I didn't felt the drums in the last part of the track. That rhythm is def alright but somethings missings; but I just can't tell you what it is...My favourite pattern/part is from 1:18-1:38... I wished that part would have been much longer.

So MattB my vote is yours. What can I say to that joint...
Maybe FIRE!!!?! 8) Great drum rhythm! Great Bass! Great guitar melody!
When I first listened to that joint I was biting my fist and it still hurts.
Very impressive pro shit!

aight, so my vote goes to wax, the drums did it in for me. Close second was mattb. I liked wax drums so much I had to sway the vote his way, but overall i liked mattb's guitars samples better. Wax went heavy on the drums, with just a bit of sample manipulation... but ahhh.. good battle all around, wish I could have worked on this more.

cheers fellas, nice work.

thanks for the feedback wax.

quite a round indeed. I'd say without a doubt that everyone flipped this thing waaaay better than that madonna track... which I think is either a Pharrell or Timbo joint. I won't repeat feedback from my previous post, but I think everyone came with some really creative stuff, with juxt and detail adding some good heat to round out the battle.

juxt - nice selection of chops, and a really cool wobbling effect on that bassline... like it slows down, or drops out or something... sounds dope tho

elhau - definitely worth repeating how dope the second part of your beat is... nice work. it would've been really cool to hear a track where you built around that theme a little more imho. There's also a really cool record-stop effect in there.

deta!l - nice choice of chops and a really clean beat. also some cool effects in there... but damn homie! did you have to name it that?! straight killin my high dude... :? but a dope beat nonetheless.

had to give the vote to wax on this one... that beat is just crazy. I'm really feeling the effect treatment on the guitar right after the "movie star" vocal drops... and the effects overall are really well done. also a dope song composition with lots of good variety and change-ups. 8)

I voted for Wax.
I also really liked WhyseOne's beat
I liked Matt B's drum programming a lot.
Juxt came fresh as always with real dusty vinyl sound.
KAEES had some fat drums kickin' it on the track.
I liked how Elhau's beat changed up.
Homemade came with a solid beat as well.
Details had dope track up too.

Yo Count, Euclid and the anonymous person that voted for me:

THANK YOU!!!

I can't understand why people are so tired to vote... Hopefully you do better in real life folks...
(To be honest I expected much more votes for mattb... Shit is so dope, don't get discouraged by the result man!!!)

No man not the manual...
Just take a listen to that break. The little drum hits after the snares were the secret to this one. I chopped them as little(!) phrases and combined them with single hits to fill shit up and get some rolls. I always was like "if the drum break isn't chopped up in every single hit it must be fake" but oh no's shit showed me the opposite. I wouldn't get that shit that liquid if I had it chopped it up @ 100%. I only can work like this if the source break got those tiny elements. In the end it's "just" a rearrangement of the original. Takes a bit of training to cut those little elements but it's always great fun to work with such a dope drumbreak. Hope you get an idea of the job.
btw I feel like my drums are way to loud on this one. I "composed" that shit on headphones and it sounded good but on a stereo I hear nuthing but drums. I'll try to mix shit up in cubase a lil later today.

Keep on voting peeps!

I voted Juxt. Overall very nice beats for what I found to be a diffecult sample. It's been so many times I've had the samples on my 404 but never come out with anything. Usually I have a cool sounding jam session but can't come up with a beat or anything ready sounding.
