KUNG LAO VS. PREDATOR! FIGHT!

Predator all the way in this one! I like that kool keith intro

I didnt hear anything MK related in Kung Lao's beat, maybe I missed it

Kung lao's beat did sound cool but i liked predators beat better

Went with predator, enjoyed both but kun lao lacked the MK theme! Both were great though, kung lao whered you get the drums from? Did you post them for others to use?

ALSO theres no time limit on the polls!!

Is it too late to put a time limit on them? I was thinking we would just leave them up until a few days after the last pair has both beats entered in

yeah people will have to vote again, when you make a poll on bottom it says for how many days you want the poll to last (probably u already saw that)

so were gonna have to leave the polls up longer it seems like because we only have about half of the people participating at this point... once we get the rest of the entries in i'll give it a couple more days and close the first round polls... if it goes more than a few days past the 24th (I think that was the day someone proposed to be the cut off for round 1), we'll just cut it off and make it a 8 or 12 person tourney or whatever we have... based off the comments here I feel like I need to clarify that MK samples are NOT required, and the only criteria for voting is personal opinion on which beat is better... not necessarily if they fit into certain tropes of beat battles. that being said if you feel like you want to vote based on the tropes go for it! no rules!!

BOTH BEATS WERE SPLENDID.

KUNG LAO HAD A REFRESHING BEAT NOT THE NORM FOR THESE NECK OF THE WOODS, NICE JOB.


PREDATOR REALLY WENT FOR IT, THE TRASH TALK WAS TOO SIC AND KILLER CHOPS.

I enjoyed both of these. Divergent styles no doubt.

I was feeling the Predator beat more though. Nice job to both!

Wow Formidable Opponents > Cats bringing heat. Like when the opening rounds of the playoffs are twice as hype than the Superbowl/Finals. Tough Match up for the first round.


KUNG LAO > Despite what Kool Keith said your mix was one of the highlights of your track. So much going on but with its own space in the mix.
Equal parts Bass/ Grease/ Codeine on ice. Love how you freaked the ambient voice sample. One of my favorite tracks I've heard so far.

PREDATOR > Choice Kool Keith sample to start off. Really sets the mood (I'm here for blood). Drums are swinging roundhouse kicks. Great Lofi Vibe/ mix (like the way the Tapehiss is sitting/ Nice dark tone). Super MK synth soundin' loop. Nice use of the Dj effects/mfx. One of the best beats I've heard so far.

hopefully this is the hardest decision of the tourney. Both beats scalped my track.

KUNG LAO gets my vote.

really hard choice here (esp with the kool keith intro) but i gotta go with kung Lao
