Hi all;

Great community here; I have already answered a lot of questions I had simply by browsing the forum. But I'm hoping I can get some recommendations on samplers/sampling workstations that have the following capabilities:

1. Mute groups
2. Pitch a sample up/down without affecting tempo
3. Change the sample's tempo without affecting pitch
4. A knob to fine tune the start/end points for sample chops would be nice too

So far as I can tell the MPC's are the only ones that meet all of the above. The Zoom Sampletrak comes close, but no mute groups. The SP-202 is missing mute groups and a fine adjustment knob.

If the MPC series is in fact the only product that can do all of the above, could you tell me what the cheapest MPC is that has all of those features?

Also, I'm only looking hardware that can run standalone; I'm trying to get away from the computer .

pretty sure the mpc500 can do these things for you and it's the cheapest mp avaiable. it runs standalone and can even run on batteries. cool with the sp

I think the SP 808 can do most of those things.
