Joyeux anniversaire To the Sp Battles !

I did enjoy to get part of this special one with some dope samples and great participant ! I've been through all the beat posted and I'd say that I enjoyed most of them, especially some dope rappers in this one ! I don't speak german but I liked very much flynn beat and flow !

Chopper handling things with its usual groove and dope beat ! loved the breaks on your beat man !
Cuzvin killed it too with some dope rapping and a great beat !

I went for ellaguru on this one ! I think that you came up with something really different on this one and I really enjoyed this kind of broken beat groove ! dope ! I'd love to know with which sp you did it !

Stand out tracks to me were the works of Devee, smoking_patterns, Letters and tiredriots (aka der Anti-Terraner ;D) with CuzVin90 stealing the vote.

the main parts were conceived on the zoom st224 wich i discovered to be very strong in bpm sync playing live without sequencer, then resampled on the sp606, but i didnt added much fx, just some filters and reverb, not that much indeed, i wantd it sounds more natural this time. i layered all on software, this means that i recorded 3 or 4 tracks live, one by one (it could have be a 4tracks recorder too)

I thought Smoking Patterns flip was perfect so that one got my vote.
other favorites were Alnitak Kid, CuzVin90, and Ellaguru.

had some favorites ellaguru as always with the dope ish smoking patterns and alnitak as well

Chopperman - you captured an awesome mood... in the zone bro. Laughed out loud at the Berni/Hillary meme too... fuck the whole world is hoping Bernie wins the presidency man good luck US brothers and sisters!

Alnitak Kid - you nexlevel in layering and your beats got the human element we need outta these machines.

Letters - the mix was a little well-cooked but as a slab of abstraktnoize i get it... plenty of inrsting shit going on in there for the earballs.

CuzzinVinny - soulful ishh.. feeling this.

NB: astrogato - there's plenty of streaming services... even dropbox public folder will mean i can listen to your track w-out having to download it. I'm sure it was great..

ALNITAK you have my vote, but it was close between you and Chopper/Vinny.

To answer your question man, yeh picked the 404sx up a little more than a month ago. Still use the 808 for almost all my chopping and most of my resampling, but running the chain: laptop->sp808->404sx->external recorder means i have the option of dumping/resampling certain things to the 404 to build up some basis for tracks and have that playing while I fuck around with chops on the 808... for example drumming out layers of chops in time to stuff playing on the 404 or easier pitchmatching disparate things using the 808's varipitch etc. When I'm happy with how elements are gelling I can play out a track live with the combined 28 pads/8pad stereo poly and have a hella control over which layers are effected.

I did a little comparison here shortly after getting it. Cheers for the vote btw!
