well it has a pretty big learning curve cause there's so much it's capable of. but so far, I absolutely love it, its my favorite machine I've ever used. It even has swing and it has the beloved 303 vinyl sim and compressor and reverb. I love it

Also picked up the 505 recently. Mainly been resampling but I'm using the sequencer for the first time on the super smash tournament!
What's your workflow on this beat, lofi or standard, compressor, vinyl sim etc

Oh dude don't sleep on the sequencer! You can do track muting and it has a swing function! You don't need to quantize either. As for the workflow, I listened to records til I found a chick corea & return to forever record and heard this sample. Then I made a drum kit with layering and such to make it fit with the beat (to my liking) then I played everything in the sequencer, no quantize just swing. Then plugged the 505 into Reaper and used the track mute and isolator trick to track everything out so I could mix it down further even though I already did panning and heavy vinyl sim and slight compression on the 505 but the vinyl sim was just on the sample. Then I played the bass on my Microkorg and added adlibs and such. Haha not sure if that's what you were asking so please excuse my lengthy response

I loved my 505. It was my third sampler. Started as hate because it didn't pitch tune samples but other than that its taken me to Jupiter and back. So much mangling and fucking up shit I did on that machine.

Thanks man, I appreciate it a lot!! but yeah I guess the machine can split samples into separate pads as different notes? I'm not sure how to do that but I'm sure it'd open up so many more possibilities with the 505
