Coolio! Only SPs can be used though, right? I cant sample with the sp, make loops, and then put it all together in reaper and then back to the sp for vin-sim?

Yes right, SP beatbattles -Sequenced/made on a SP.
It's different if you use the SP just for the FX or Sound, made in Reaper.
Personally, it doesn't really matter what kind of gear a beatmaker uses to make music.But this Arena upgrades a gladiator's SP Skills with battles.
For me it feels unfair for the other gladiators, - know what i mean?
If this was STBB , i would think different about this.
I understand if you Chop or Pitch in a DAW.
For me DAW users can enter this battle(WATCH OUT!VERY DANGEROUS) , but report when uploading your beat. The original moderators can always hear if it was made on a SP or something else

Why can´t you sample with a OG? or do you miss a cable?

I have a special request: I'm mad busy as of late and with so many samples provided and the open rules of this battle, I could def use more time to shape out a beat... Can we push the deadline to maybe the 16th or 17th just so we have the weekend to work it out? Gotta do these samples justice y'know?

Pitching with DAW's? Aight watchout for me tho

Nawnaw, I use the SP to sample, then spend a bunch of time creating loops and sfx and bits and pieces with the SP and in the end i usually drop it all into my DAW where i put it together into a track

But now Im gonna try and do it all in the SP!

Setting the bar lofi

I chopped up the drum sample, picked up bits from the Saikouba joints, a roll from Herbie, and of course some goodies from the vid.
Recorded vst synths, and used contact mic recordings and one-shot adlibs i had in my other banks.
edit: forgot to mention i brought it back to ableton for "mastering" (muddening), then audacity to clip it to shit and rerender it to a lousy bitrate mp3 file.

So for the most part I only really flipped percussion samples from the .zip, I'm excited on seeing what you other cats do with all the great fodder.

Sure bro, i understand - i wil change the deadline;)

Make what you like bro - i don't have a problem if a SP-gladiator comes up with a 7-8min entry/ minitape - it's always a small list of beats in this Arena.

my winzip trial expired, and i'm broke... go on without me.

awesome these are samples i would gush some real blood to use them so i guess i gotta get my first scars in the arena after all..

@yung: i use 7zip and theres surely more free unzippers around. you dont know what you are skipping
