Help controlling 404 w MPD18...
want to trigger 404 with mpd18 using presonus studio one 2 free. i created the 404 as a new external device in studio one and set the 'send to' port to my interface 'steinberg ur22 port 1' and the 'receive from' port to 'akai mpd18'. tried reversing this and nothing. tried setting both ports to the steinberg, messing with the midi settings in the 404, nothing. watched a tutorial on youtube, nothing. anyone?

what about plugging your mpd18 straight into your 404sx?

the mpd18 is only usb out--no midi port. so i need to use the midi interface on the ur22.
(and not that it matters but its an og 404 not sx)...

This seems like it would add too much latency if you get it working in the first place...
I think maybe you'll have to record your midi, then just play it back...? I'm not aware of using a DAW as a USB midi bridge...

Maybe this would be better?
No idea if it would work though, so don't buy it then blame me for it not working! lol
