I just bought an SP and it came in the mail today. When I turned it on and recorded something with the mic installed in the SP, it does not play me the sound back. I want to know if there's some thing you have to do to get the volume going, or if I just got played for this SP. I bought it from Ebay off an account that had over 4000 feed back 100% positive feedback. Please if anyone can help me on this I'd appreciate it !

Read the manual. p16

Notes that might help-

Recording Samples— Basic Operation

Connecting a Mic
To use a mic, connect it to the MIC IN jack, then press the [MIC] button so it’s lit.

Press the [MIC] button so it’s lit.
MEMO
If you’re not using a mic, leave this button unlit.
If you want to use the built-in mic, don’t connect anything to the MIC IN jack. The built-in mic won’t operate if a mic is connected to the MIC IN jack.

You prob need to press the MIC button in and turn the volume up ..it's where the jack in is
.. opposite side to the headphone output on the front panel

Oh also make sure you familiarize yourself with the input/output and internal processing settings. They affect volume too and also sometimes how much overhead you get before distorting when using effects etc.
