So for those beatmakers in the holiday spirit, we got a contest for you.

Make a beat composed from sampling holiday songs.
The whole track, drums and all, got to come from Christmas joints.

Post your beat, and let us know the samples from where you got them.

I was thinking the same thing this morning! Good idea.
If there's a good turnout I'll put it up as an album at spbattalion.bandcamp.com. "A Very SP Christmas" or something like that..

sounds dope. ill get workin on mine soon enough. no outside drum kits or anything like that? strictly only the song?

It's all gotta come from samples off holiday records.
It can come from more than one song, but they all gotta be Christmas joints.

I cant see finding christmas drum breaks being very easy, anyone got any?

Managed to find some snare rolls and a small break covered in electric guitar haha. I'll be stretching pretty hard to get a beat going with these three 45s.
Good to push yourself though.

Christmas in Hollis! Truth be told, that is one of the first rap songs that I had on tape. It was my mother's tape actually. I would steal it and listen to that song over and over. I didn't know a thing about Hip Hop music other than that I loved it. I just looked up the track list.

i just picked up a copy of do they know its christmas today

I did a whole beat tape with xmas samples last week. It ain't hard to dig for them. Just listen to some youtube playlists and smoke a blunt and start vibing...lol

Kick, open hat and clappy snare- Danny Boy-Peaceful christmas

Other snare, layered with clappy snare-Hard Rock-Christmas Bells (I think, had another loaded up but can't remember what it was from but was a christmas track.

Scrapey til sound-Wizzard-I wish it could be christmas everyday

Bells from one of the many tracks that had them, cant remember which one I took it from.
