I work at a hotel banquet department and a group had a music themed party and for whatever reason they used records as decoration, i heard someone say they didnt want to take the records home and i said i would so they hooked it up with 3 huge boxes of records, its actually a lot of great jazz, soul, rock, and weird shit from the 70's and earlier. Theres also an insane amount of ravi shankar and other middle eastern music. I am so stoked.

I can relate to that.
I'm anal about organizing my collection.
My girl always gets irritated when I come home with bags/boxes/crates of vinyl. They stay all over the place until I get time to listen to them fully. Then I file them away in the wall shelves.
She asks why I don't just put them up. But I have a strategic system of categorizing by sound type, then genre, then alphabetized.

I just go by genre. With a collection of substantial size organization is key. That way when i go listen to or sample something i can cruise through the genre that suits my mood. Its gonna take a while to listen to the lot i aquired. Thus far everything I've listened to has nice, hella 70's soul, i typically favor shit made in 79 or earlier so i am incredibly pleased.
