Old video, older OS, they probably use a Mac, etc..
Turn the SP-555 off before inserting or removing a CompactFlash card. You will eventually corrupt the card and have to reformat it.
I've had mine since 2008?, and it's always started up fine with a CF card in the unit.
Before you rip it out of your card reader on Windows, you should also right click on it and "safely remove" or eject from "My Computer."
It might take 5-10 or 10-20 times or more for this to happen, but eventually, Mr. CF card will go south and need to be reformatted. If you insert it into a card reader on Windows and Win want's to "scan and fix," your card already has problems. Backup your data and reformat the card.
