power supply for sp-303

Post by mumkai »

hey all. im new to the forums. ive been working on an mpc 2000xl for over 8 years, but the motherboard and sampler are starting to die out on me so i thought it was time to switch up samplers. i just got an sp-303 that didnt come with a power supply. i been reading all over this forums about power supplies for the sp-303. i have a barrage of power supplies and i think i found one that works, but cant be quite sure - this is why im here.

The power supply reads as follows:

Input: 120v 60hz 17w
Output: 9v DC 1.2A
+)----C•-----(- <----same as on the unit, negative polarity

im pretty sure this will work, but i dont want to try this instant and fry the sampler. any help is greatly appreciated.

thanks!

Your best bet is to go to Guitar Center and pick up a Boss PSA 120-T power adapter. Or buy it on eBay or Amazon. I wouldn't want you frying your 303, either!!

hey thatnks for the input.

yeah i called up my sam ash and guitar center only to find that BOTH stores' pro audio departments didnt know anything about the sp-303. why am i not surprised. i mean i live in los angeles; you think some one would have insight on this product here!

anyway, i found another power adapter that works. 9V, DC, negative polarity, its 1.3A which im pretty sure is OK as long as its 1000mA or over. so, im good to go. just made two beats last night. im really thrown back - the 303 is so easy to use!

thnx again!

The 303 can use the adaptor from the 606. But I'm just saying.

But I've tried the adaptor on the MPC500 on many small samplers and it works fine. But I'm just saying.

Any Radio Shack adaptor will do though, just make sure you match the specs. But I'm just saying.
