Anyone else using an iOS device for music production? I've been using an a M Audio Midi keyboard and a iPod Touch. Just bought
SampleTank for iPhone and was blown away! I ordered the
iRig Midi too for 48 more sounds too! Can't wait to use this live!
How are you using your iPhone or iPod for music?

Yah, quite a few of us are using them. There's been a bunch of posts about it in this section, freedom of speech and production section. Poke around and you'll find them.
I use the camera connection kit with my iPad hooked up to a 4port powered USB hub. From there I have a korg nanokey controller, m audio UNO midi in/out, berhinger USB audio interface and a multi memory card reader. The output goes into my sp404. All this stuff works together at the same time.
Apps I suggest.
Nanostudio
Beatmaker 2
Sunrizer
Addictive synth
Animoog
Multitrack daw
Meteor
Sound prism pro
Genome midi sequencer
Korg ims20
Aurora studio hd
Isequence
Tnr-i
ikaossilator
The list goes on and on. Hit up
www.palmsounds.net for the down low on mobile music making.

didn't know all this was possible, with all the cool apps this might actually make me get an ipad.
Are there restrictions in what audio interface will work? I cant imagine just any one would... or?

There's a topic somewhere about
SampleWiz.
Just bought a used iPod Touch just for this software. The granular mode looks like tons of fun. Gonna stick it to the input of 404 and use it for adding noise to my band's live performance.

Not trying to dis-encourage you from buying an iPad or anything (they are cool), but most iPad music production programs are way too limited and sometimes even downright gimmicky.
This won't necessarily be a problem for many here getting very creative with 'limited' gear, but don't expect a fully fledged Reason or Live kind of app for the iPad. It's not that mature yet.

Alot of them are limited but they pave the way for the really innovative and cool ones. Animoog is the shit, sunrizer synth as well. There are a bunch of toy ones but you gotta weed em out. Beatmaker 2 is a cheap mpc, all the same functions.

Yeah, be sure to do some proper research before buying anything.
I'm sure they will get there.
I hear people like iMaschine too, but I haven't messed with it myself yet.
