Alright famn damily, it's time to bust out your ouds, harps, turkish spoons, finger cymbals and zurnas, cause it's going down in the Middle East. Do what you must to arm yourselves with sonic weapons, you have 7 days to strategize and we're moving in to the center plaza where they used to milk the goats for a Middle-Eastern styled Beat Down.

Hope this is chill w/ everyone. :D

Beat's due by... hmm the 11th or 12th? I guess Saturday the 12th is probably the best bet at this point since it's later in the day, and that'll give people Friday and Saturday to work if they want. Let me know if I need to do anything differently, never run one of these before.

Middle-Eastern influence. I mean shit, if you're trying to use Medieval Middle Eastern samples go for it, but I'm just trying to have a Middle-Eastern influence here.

I haven't done one of these new-format open challenges, are they completely open? like..

Does there have to be an SP at least used once,
or does there have to be a certain % middle eastern?

I think the open challenge has changed quite alot from when i used to follow it

I wasn't around in the past so I don't know if I should run this differently, let me know if I should...

I was thinking the beats should be sort of focused on a Middle Eastern sound or at least just using some instruments from there as samples. I think they've been open to be made on any equipment, and I'm fine with that, though it would be nice to still have the SP's used for something.

Again open to any input, just put it out there.

Think I got some tabla sample and suitable percussion stuff, might have to youtube some other sounds though, or maybe I can look for some movies with middle east stuff on. Cool one.

If people need samples I can try to rip some of my turkish records and whatnot, but I have to do that at my friends house haha

Honestly I've been busy as hell this week and was just going to get started today. I'm down to extend it to Sunday. Any objections?
