This is a free program editor/maker for the mpc 1000 and mpc 500. I just got it and I like it better than the pad 187 program. It also has a chop function. It works for pc and mac.

I messed with it last night and it looks promising...I admit it was the reason for not selling my mpc500..I planned on loading drum samples and using it mainly for my diy edrums as a module(with an alesis trigger),but I was afraid that it would take me hours to organize samples ,especially for multilevel samples(the mpc 500 is the origin of menu diving!)....
I didn't have time for exporting any program to the mpc so I'm not sure if it works...Did you test it?
By the way thanks man!I had no idea there was an mpc editor!

WHOAH.

Great find & thanks for sharing it! I've really slacked off using my 500. This will surely bring me back to it...

I'd tried looking for something like this after finding the wave ESX editor, but had no luck. How'd you come across this? Its nuts that it came out in '09. Maybe its time to learn to google better.

Great app but I hate the fact that it doesn't allow you to audition layered pads. Unless I just don't know how its done.

The app I like is claled Bluebox

It's also free and gets the job done nicely
