Im having a problem with my whole setup so lemme break it all down:
I have a turntable, vestax pmc 05 mixer, sp 404sx and Logitech Z 2300 speakers. In the past my setup was only lacking the 404 and I could play records fine hooking up the lineout rca cable with a 1/8 jack into the headphones input in the logitech z 2300 speakers.
My setup now however has the vestax mixer line out connecting into the sp404. The rca cable with 1/8 jack is used for the 404's line out into the speakers and yes there is no sound. Im perplexed.
edit: Ive tried some troubleshooting by removing the 404 from the setup. Turntable+mixer+speakers still = no sound.
edit 2: I realize however that even if i remove the mixer and turntable and use the 404's preset sounds the line out to speakers still produces no sound? So this is a speaker problem ;_;
edit 3: Connected the 1/8th jack into macbook pro's audio in port and then connected the logitech speakers to the macbook's audio out port and still nuttin

Re: Setup problem
in edit 3, was there audio coming into the macbook, just using the laptop speakers?
Re: Setup problem
yeah audio was going into the macbook but nothing came out.
Re: Setup problem
Have you tried the headphone out on your mixer & 404 ? If sound is coming out both then it could be the amplifier inside the logitech is broken.
Re: Setup problem
I cant try out the headphones since i dont have any with a 1/4 jack. I know the logitech speakers work since I can still use them as computer speakers. I guess I just cant use rca to 1/8th jack as a line out connection.
Re: Setup problem
Did you press the ext source pad? This let's the sound play through the 404.

Re: Setup problem
he said he was getting nothing with the preset sounds in the 404, so probably not the ext source button.
Re: Setup problem
problem solved yall i just got me a 1/8 to 1/4th adapter, plugged my headphones in and heard wondrous beautiful sound. Line out to 1/4th computer speakers input is a definite no go.
