Does anyone know any extremely underground albums made from 1950-1979 for me to check out? Funk and jazz are the main genres that I'm looking for.

no sure if thats what you're looking for: I have a baris manco 7" of gonul dagi. I will try to do a flip on that soon, but it is kinda tough, actually. he is still really famous in turkey but nowhere else... and the gonul dagi is all about spacey triphop beats ,,,

Black Sugar... Peruvian Funk from early 70's really hard to find, they only released 2 albums and they sing in English... I know this cats from Secret Stash records they just re-issue some songs on vinyl... I copped that shit and is dope as fuck... actually I just flipped one of the songs and I'm including the beat on my next project.

For the stuff I dig, I just google a genre and time period, then visit the right sites that talk about the music I'm looking for. Some blogs provide sound clips. Then when I've accumilated a list of enough strange unknown bands, I hit up amazon, ebay, and gemm.com to search for them. Sometimes they're there, sometimes not. I'll even take the risk of ordering from a mom and pop record store in Israel or India for some shit made in the USA. I go all out if the record smells like that ill green flavor. I do get most of my records from a norweigan island record store and they got that underground hippy 60's shit. So far, they've been a dope service and none of them fucked me over.
The net has been beautiful to me. Once you find that right connect, you'll feel that satisfaction of "FINALLY!!! Music made for me!"
