they are both sick either would be a cool purchase, just sayin regardless of your style of music id still get the mpc over a 555 because i already have a 404.

that's what i said before. if i got a 404 i will stay with this, if i had a 555 i won't take a 404.
HD, i say this beacuse to me it seems really an upgrade of the 404. same screen. almost same fx.
correct me, but the only rilevant different things seem to be:
1)loop capture
2)roll
3)better sequencer
4)midi out+usb port
5)2 fx at the same time with d-beam filter
6)dbeam+internal synth
7)sensitive pads
not bad, but then i will sell my 404 (if i'd got one).

the 555's filters (LP BP Notch Highpass and the OG drive + LP) are smoother than anything ive touched on my computer or even my kaoss pad

...try the sp202 filters...this old things still rocks...

i really think the 404 heads ( and i mean this in the nicest way possible) should ditch the 404 for the 555 if they get a chance
