Me personally I don't mind using anything u like as long as u build it on SP and use characteristic sounds/stabs for your alias. I like being restricted by challenging rules but I don't have a problem for this (I ain't no chief anyway just trying to organise this similarly to older tourneys)

Not saying I want to b she-hulk or anything... just pointing out that she is pretty legit.

I like the way the MK tourney was open & we picked our own samples, just posting them so both people could use them. I would also b down for a stricter all-SP format though.

How bout all SP, w multiple SP’s allowed and multitrack recording? That way people can get really complex if they choose but it’s all within the SP realm.

As for samples, I found sounds on some episodes of the series but they're not online videos. Osts are shit on the raccoons series btw.Probably other people have similar stuff to deal with

I just have an SP202... I can try SP only, but some bouncing would be nice XD

Im def down for sp only... if we can free for all samples it should be hella easy to find multiple samples in the same key with lead instruments like keys and guitar, synth and stuff... this is gonna be fun!

^definitely good to bounce. I think including multitrack recording opens the door for all kinds of bouncing & effects possibilities, plus potentially cleaner tracks. How bout we limit the recorders to EQ & comp only? Meaning all effects need to b of an SP nature.

roulette was how the last smash bros was done. everybody submit a sample and then those samples were randomly picked for each player.
its alittle hardcore bc u probably dont get to use your own sample selection.
the final rounds get intersting bc everybody knows what samples are left.

sp only is cool, I only have 1 sp & my multitrack recorder is broken, but I can deal with it. Just curious -

1) Can we tune the loop/sample prior to putting it into the sp?
I'll chop in the sp, but I like to tune my samples if possible.
2) Can we use whatever sample source we want?
I was planning on using vinyl, dvd (for TMNT samples), synth (bass) &
mic (make my own sounds).

If the answer is no to either, I'll still battle.

@Sharris - Outside gear would allow for repitching. All SP would b only pitching w ur SP. If it’s open sample format & u r ripping from vinyl, then u can repitch prior to posting the link to ur sample. In the open sample format u can hunt for whatever u want u just need to upload and post a link so ur opponent can have access to the same material.

I think right now it’s open samples for beats etc, right? Definitely open for vocal 1-shots & character related stuff.

Edit: I don’t know about the repitching question actually. I’m not hardcore about it. Seems more like a personal pref, so I’d say yeah... do whatever as far as pitching. How’s everyone else on re-pitching?
