I used to have an SP-303 and used it's effects for a sound coming from a MicroBrute.. Looking back the only track I made became one of the coolest tracks I've made with that idea. Wish I still had both and experiment a little more.. Like recording more notes into a SP, since the synth is mono, and create chords or whatever.

So now I'm saving money to get a 404 and either a Bass Station II or Korg MS-20 Mini and try to get things going again.

FYI: if looking new and SX I got mine on Amazon for $384, prime shipping had it in two days. The only difference I saw was the manual is in Japanese so had to print twenty ish pages.

i really would like a loopstation like a rc-202/rc-505.

and a synth, a D2 or a mc-505. or a sonic cell or even a SD-50.
anything, themidi out on my 606 means i could play it right from my pads.

I have never played with a "real" loopstation, but the MC-09 is certainly a kind of loopstation, and much much fun to play with.

These days my 3 favourite machines that I can play alone or with friends are:

TR-8 for big fat beats (808, 909, 707, 606)
MC-09 : 4 track looper/sampler + 303 bassline emulator
SP-505 as an effects processor + additional samples

All this without a mixer because it's possible to chain the 3 units in multiple different ways which is fun exploring (all 3 have a Line IN), or with the Roland MX-1 as a "playable" mixer, using the Effects Send by track to select what unit(s) I want to loop with the MC-09, which makes infinite evolutive mix possibilities.

I used to own a microkorg and Arturia's micro brute. Because of my limited inputs and my lack of depth synthesis knowledge, i decided to use soft synths and electric bass.

@mr.thraz . the RC505 is good fun . 5 track looping situation . good for when you arrange beats on the fly.

alternatively the RC202 would be just as fun . just less channels

.if you go with the 505 in the future . look up the update to use multiple effects on master channel
