Did you really like the SP-505 better than the SP-606?
now i play the sp-404 with different quantize: 16 or 16/3=kick, 8 or 8/3=snare, 8=hihhat. it's more precise for my way. (the sp-303 it's more easy to work).
the sp-505 is better for me. the pitch-scale function is something that i never find to other samplers (the su10, the su200, and the st-224 got it, indeed) and is very cool for my way of working. the same for the sp-505 choppin' way. more precise and useful than the one in the sp-606.
but the real thing that makes me crazy about the sp-606 (and that pushed me to look at the sp-505) was the fact that bugged many times (when combining 2fx+playing patterns), or some functions were hidden inside.
so i renounced to 2fx and sensitive pads, but i got a more stable and good machine.
