here is the first little beat i made with this combo:

the dr-202 was only used for sequencing and a hihat-roll-sample. it's not really a good demonstration for what is possible with a dr-202 and a 303. but it was helpful to shift around samples in small steps and saved me some time recording and editing patterns.
after recording your pattern it's cool to change the bpm a little (+/-0.1 f.e.) so the groove changes just a tiny bit. sometimes it sounds better than the original tempo. sometimes not :)

thank you. there will be more. i still can't believe the dr.groove sat dusty in a corner of my room for years. i had used it a lot and then stopped cause of the background noise and the unlimited possibilities of computers. now i don't give a fuck about background noise and computers anymore :)

anyone use this thing for its bass? thoughts? ive been thinkin about copping an inexpensive little machine like this to give my beats some good synth bass. can i get a clean sine wave type sound out of this or is it only good for "techno-ey" bass lol if that makes sense.. and if anyone knows a better box for getting some healthy bass lemme know!

yes you can. the dr has some powerful bass sounds including sine waves. but there is some background noise to it. so it's not really perfectly "clean". if you want drums and bass in one cheap but versatile machine, get it. if you only need bass sounds there could be other interesting machines. but at the same price? hm...i don't know
