You are looking for a midi sequencer not a midi controller. A controller is just a dummy that triggers sounds from the "brain". A sequencer can control many midi units all at the same time. Making them sequence/loop in time. Midi is a double edged sword. It can be very easy or very complicated depending on what your gear is and what your budget is.
