done it, have created a song and everything is in perfect time. created the loops in Ableton at 132bpm, sp808 says loops are 131.98 bpm!! anyway that's sorted out. i wonder now can you apply different fx to the tracks, EQ on A, space echo on B etc, i will give it a shot

maybe you can only use one fx at a time, i can use some of the fx on an single track, others though seem to go on all of them (master). i have also edited the song which is cool to build up a basic song structure although for certain things like volume automation maybe better to have built into loops or on the other hand better to use the track faders i suppose as this gives a more hands on live feel.

ya man the e-mix is different, i have the black box. and the fx is only one at a time. but im glad you got that thing running. are you using step record. its easy as fuck when all of your loops are in sync at the same bpm. maybe read up on that. just a super quick way to lay out your loops. think there is a video on youtube about it. looks like it was filmed in the 80's with some mr. rogers lookin dude trying to sell a tutorial vid.

yes have managed to build up a 4 track song will render some more loops tonight in Live and then convert them and put to zip, once the loops are edited and made up proper everything plays together perfect on the 808 as they should. i seem to be able to record more than one pad onto each track so gives plenty of scope for building up a song. much rather play this machine out rather than laptop, looks much better. think i may pick up another unit though as 2 machines would be safer in case a zip drive gets fubared or something. may see about getting a e-mix studio although two black-case together would look cool.

the e-mix has a zip too, what if they both screw up?.
Re: how do i line up loops sp808
Replace the zip drives, duh. Glad you got it working. But if you can make perfect loops and import them to the 808 with software, then why don't you place the loops on pads and play those live.

i would like just to play the pads but gets back to playing the parts in time with each other. on playing a song though i have noticed audio dropouts, so maybe a mix of playing song and pad phrases may be better.
i have read that 250MB disks are better than 100MB, maybe they ran read faster.
