Thanks, yep, it sounds pretty different indeed. The SP 555's vinyl sim sounds a bit more as a separate sound because of the lack of compressor I think.

Personally probably not something I'm really going to miss a lot, but there's definitely a difference there. Thanks for posting the beat with the effect applied.

No problem. Does the 555 have a regular compressor like the 303 and 404?, If it does you could use the vinyl sim when you record your sample and then resample that with some compression.

Yeah, it has a regular compressor on it too, so that's a little workaround indeed. Haven't quite tried that out, but it will definitely add more flavor to the sound for sure. The isolator is pretty powerful in this respect too.

the standard compressor on the SP-303 - 606 Its amazing on drums. It will make kick that will put a whole through a brick wall ! Those audio sample are coming soon...my friggin computer is jacked up right now.. gotta go hit up the mac store :(

Here it is, I applied the vinyl sim(heavy on the compressor) on the sample as well as the whole drum track, so you can get the best idea of the sound it creates.
