Re: nano studio for i touch
yeah i downloaded the pc one and its the exact same and the iphone shit. i hit a button and it opened my windows explorer so i think you can load samples str8 from your computer, since if you use the iphone youhave to wi-fi em in. so the pc version is cool as well. you could use it as a free synth player and record it. the synth presets are really nice and the XY controllers can handle itself too. ive been playing with it at work.

If you are trying to use samples from your computer with the desktop version you need to move or copy the folder of WAV files into the nanostudio user directory. I asked the dev about this and he said it's just the way it's gotta be for now. The user directory can be found in your "documents" folder. And yeah, getting samples into the iphone/ipod is a pain which is why I made an audio cable that allows me to record them on the fly. If not just use SSH to upload entire directories onto the phone. If anybody needs help with this PM me.

Re: nano studio for i touch
Drew are you going to use the iphone/ipod version? If so which model of idevice do you have?
I have not tried to sample using the desktop version, but I have got the idevice version to work fine.
To record with ipod touch gen2, gen3, iphone 3g and iphone 3gs. You will need a cable similar to this. >>
ipad and iphone4 have different dock connectors so I don't think this option will work. If you look at the photo you notice the package comes with a dock connector, usb cable, and the RCA cables. The most important part of this setup is the RCA video cable with the 3tip plug.
The three tip plug allows for Stereo out (red/white plugs) and mono in (the yellow plug) So to get the setup you need you'll have to buy some adapter cables/plugs from radio shack. Just plug that three tipped 1/8" cable into your idevice. THIS WILL NOT WORK UNLESS YOU HAVE THE CABLES ALL PLUGGED INTO AN AUDIO SOURCE!!!! It took me weeks to figure this out.....
PM me for more details.... to much to type out here.

This is what I am trying to describe. But as I said before this video doesn't tell you the most important aspect of using a setup like this. The OUTPUT of the ipod cable NEEDS TO BE PLUGGED INTO AN AUDIO SOURCE for it to be recognized as a "mic" in the applications.
It took me 6 restores and two weeks for me to figure this out. Hahahaha, I'm done w/this thread. I'm startin to feel like a used cars salesman.

Nice! I might grab it. How exactly does the sampling work? Can you hook the ipod touch to the audio source?

This is how sampling for iphone/ipod touch works. Just using the ipod shuffle so everything fits in frame.
