I'm having the same issues. what I'm thinking of doing is trying to use batteries to see if its something in the power source that's causing the problems

since this thread was started, i actually ended up buying a PT-01 USB. there is a small-but-noticeable hum on mine as well. i think it is just how the turntable is made (my hum is not that loud or bad. can still use the TT).
but i've found if you touch any of the knobs while sampling you end up grounding the turntable.
hey freedom - perhaps try this to see if it is a solution? does that cut out the hum?

As cliched as it sounds, you get what you pay for. My pt01 usb hums too, but for the money I can't complain. Get rid of it and invest in a better turntable if the hum is really that bad.

@ Kel
Do you have anything with a battery charging plugged in as well? Having 2 laptops plugged in has created a hum for me. Even cell phones can do it too. Somebody has told me that you might be able to get around this by using a AC plug adapter. Lets you use 3 prong in a 2 prong plug / and vise versa.

Is the non-usb version of this still available? Do you think it is better than the newer version with the usb out?

30cm x 30cm x 10 cm ( with cover )
2,5 kg ( without batteries )
rans off 6 R20(D) batteries - (those bigger ones)
Ive never really taken it with me outside so im not gonna tell you what the battery life is, but I read somewhere on the internets that one guy been using them for about 40hours already and they were still good.
