for that kind of cash you should get a used machinedrum mk1 (or mkII for a bit more). it could do up 16 tracks of TR style midi sequencing and you'd get all of the dope machinedrum sounds and parameter locks plus they are nice and compact. I guess there would be a bit more of a learning curve with the machinedrum, but the elektron UI is honestly one of the best ive ever used.

so in short for around the same $$ you could get a comparable(better in some respects) sequencer plus a totally bad ass drum synth and it has a similar compact build.
