For the record (or mp3 ) I just want to say I really like "Bank C" Computers. 2009 sucked and I'm trying to forget it like a can of bad tuna. All that 'best of' stuff goes on in middle/late December and now it's almost March & 2 months is like 5 years in internet time. We could take all the nominees and make an "Award Tour" tape and put it up for download- I'd contribute. It's all about the music no?
I'm sorry, Wax, I took off your name from the list. I don't see what the big deal is, but I guess if enough people are against it, I'll scrap this. Just so you guys know, though, before starting this whole idea I asked and recieved keesj's approval.
Hmmm, while I am undecided on whether this award thing should be or not, I don't quite get what's wrong with a thing like this all of a sudden; didn't loads of you guys nominate someone in the thread about this??
i think people just don't like the idea of choosing and picking people as "the best" at something, its hard to put to words but i think we all get why anyone would not be so into this idea.........but whatever, if it goes on, i'll try and vote if i can make a decision, right now though i can't even go through that list and make a pick, to many hard decisions to be made you know

ditched ikarus???
Well you know, of the year I'm just trying to spice the forums up a bit, if that's the right way of saying it.
I dunno, I guess I'll stick to COMPUTERS, everybody knows me like that...unless someone could recommend me a super duper coolio nameo.
I just wanted to quickly share my perspective on these awards since I think some people are interpreting this thing the wrong way.
Instead of thinking of it as a competition, see it as a way to celebrate our community give extra credit to the people who contributed in a special way. Either by directly contributing to the community, or putting SP music on the map by producing dope music.
As for un-nominating yourself, that's okay with me if you want to. But do realize it's not really about you, it's about the people who want to give you props. Of course people already to this throughout the forums, but you can never do it enough if you ask me, and now with 2009 behind us, it seems like a good time to have the whole community take part in it.
A way to have a bit of fun, talk about everything that happened in 2009 and look at the future.
As always, if you guys really don't like the awards-approach, that's okay. We'll know that for next year. That's how the SP-Forums work. We try a thing, if you like it we keep doing it, if not, we don't. So please keep letting us know if you like this approach or not and we can work on something for 2010.

keesj makes a good point...not into the whole award idea of who's the best at what, mostly cause it just doesnt matter. but i do appreciate that two tapes ive worked on are up there, and its nice too know people are enjoying it. cheers to whoever nominated that shit! wish i saw the thread where i could nominate cause tux and culprit would be up there...pretty surprised they aren't all over this. but thanks again, there are some great nominations up on this, peace everyone!
Yeah, that's right, it doesn't matter. But it does underline the ever positive vibe around these forums, doesn't it? Either way, I'm cool with whatever people think of these awards.
