@Juxt, that dude that closed the site was named Zombiao or something like that. He made me mad when he did that because ppl were joining and I guess he was brain-fried from building that site but still, he should've stuck to his guns.

The really sad part is that some cats respond with RTFM kind of bs when in reality they can not make music for shit or barely really know how it works themselves. :p

I totally agree with how just responding with newbie info, instead of RTFM bs, will really help and give a forum a whole different kind of vibe. It's odd how some people over there think providing actual help is gay or something.
I'm not gay. I just think people benefit most from actual answers, even if you can read the answer in the manual. If people know it's in the manual, they could save them the hassle of searching where and give a page number to look it up right away.

My personal experience with amateur mpc users is as follows:

It was over 10 years ago when I was 16 or 17, just got really interested in electronic music and how to do it, getting my first synthesizer from holiday job money, trying out the rather primitive software of those days and reading up a lot on the whole topic.
I knew two people personally who have/had mpcs:

One was a little Polish guy with suspected minority complex looking for a cool way to spend his drug money.
The other was a rich parent's kid and that type who impresses other people with being a loudmouth and gathering "followers", while having no skills whatsoever themselves.
As I was the only one they knew with any experience in production, I tought them how to use the MPC2000s they bought - really easy to use I must say. I brought some wav samples on 3.5" disk (lol) and made a house beat in minutes.

Anyways I know not all mpc users are like that, but from what I've seen and read the last years, there is a tendency of Yo Dawg U Wanna Maek Beatz U Need MPC, All Else Is Whack Shit. Especially so amongst the younger, less experienced (both in music and life) users.

But, enough ranting for tonight Just my three cents.
