why not sample hip hop? "i'll take a sample of a sample you can call it my preamble"-KRS-one.

Ill sample ANYTHING. I dont loop my samples so I'll chop up a sample into quite a few pieces and put it back together in a way that nobody will know the sample source. there are know rules.

I think scratching in some vocal cuts is dope, but the fun of the whole thing is getting your own unique sounds. I guess if you snatch up a snare off a snoop record and flip a bit that would be cool. I might do something like that, but to re-loop a sample right off a tribe record would be not cool to me.

i was jokin

just pointing out how its kind of a mindfuck to sample someone who sampled someone

then in the future it will be sampling someone who sampled someone who sampled someone who sampled a funk band.

and so on towards infinity...

Why not? Tribe sampled older Hip Hop. They didn't limit it to sampling either, Tribe flipped other cats' rhymes, too. Cat's have been sampling Hip Hop almost since the instant it all began. Nothing wrong with that, I say. It's kind of a no-holds-barred genre.

There were only like 7 breaks that anybody used during Hip Hop's infancy in the '70s.
