Re: All the music you never wanted to hear
No, that wasn't ever stated by anyone and I don't have a problem with anyone here. I just mean people used to post like crazy uptempo electronic music, ambient, trip-hop, lo-fi, one kid had the weird indie rock sampler thing happening. There was more diversity in what would be listened and paid attention to, now it's hard to get people to check your stuff if it's not associated with the whole beat generation thing. I love to see beat based production advance and I'm a huge fan of Fly lo and Dibiase, but not every beat I listen to has to melt my wig or be on some hip hop 3.0 shit. I just don't like to see other styles get crowded out or never have a chance to grow, all because no one takes the time to check for it.

understandble, i would love to hear those guys music as wellEuclid Ov Oåklånd wrote:No, that wasn't ever stated by anyone and I don't have a problem with anyone here. but arena had 13 contestants last battle and they all brought their own thing to it.
feedback is always an iffy things on forums though, i wouldn't say its because of any particular reason... some people have lives (what are those?) and some play out their tunes as well. soundcloud is taking off recently, most people ive talked to on other forums much prefer soundcloud for feedback than letting some anon dis them on how it sounds like sample they already flipped
its getting colder, people are on their computers more
people are buying 404sx's left and right
so i say hold your breath and hope for the best and stay positive about it
any btw, i used one of your tracks from that big download for a mixtape along with some other forum regulars, but you probably weren't around when i mentioned that you were in it.
its all styles that branched from dub, hip hop, trip hop, dubstep, jazz, dnb, ambient
http://soundcloud.com/hurling-dervish/f ... re-mixtape
people seem to dig the hip hop mixed into the more dubby stuff so all this talk of genres and what not makes me want to make part 2 with more sp guys in it as well
peace

I used to leave comments about your beats, but I like your stuff and it always gets better but I definitely see everyone sleeping on your music.

Don't stop posting because no one comments, this is just a small forum and I can def understand that even if people do listen to beats from everyone all the time, that they don't comment much.JayLost wrote:yo i post my beats all the time with 0 feedback hahaha but i dont even give a fug ...i keep posting them shits lmao im a nut though maybe i should stop haha
It's probably also a matter of time and the most useful comments are constructive ones that take even a lil' more time.
It's the exact same over at MVNation and even MPCForums or FutureProducers. People post music all the time that get little to no comments.
I'm guessing it's mainly because we're all musicians. We respect each other and probably like each others music anyways. I'm sure if we'd post beats to a place with more 'listeners' and less 'producers or beatmakers', we'd all get more comments. But whether it would be more useful... don't know man.
Anyways, excuse me little rant that seems to go nowhere.

Re: All the music you never wanted to hear
Yeah, I just had some real life matters to handle this past year. Ideas stopped coming easily and I wasn't focused, so I just decided to be a listener and go back to school so to speak. Everyone on the forum new and old have been up to some crazy shit this year.
