hey Ella, i really think that between the AN200 and the D2, you can make 95% of the sounds you want. both are serious synth engines with a lot of parameters to tweak - plug a MIDI keyboard in if you want more range/velocity sensitive keys and you're good to go

scratch the surface of those synths and there's heaps to explore. maybe routing them through some pedals or recording to tape/etc will add a bit of the wistful grit of BoC too, but you probably don't need to buy anything new

i tried the roland D2 and it have lot of ambient/space sounds that i never listned before...plus it got directly some juno sounds (roland juno is the same label of the D2, so)...it got many tb303 sounds, great basses too etcetc this machine is very vesatile, it'll never end to astonishing me...the an200 is more chemical beat/acid oriented but some space sounds too...in any case i love its way of killing beats (gate/swing/reverse are top!), it's a good groovebox...for the space sounds you have to work to find them trough its many parameters...

i will try to lofi/noising them with the Sps or some tapes.

cool vid. i'm experimenting with FM synthesis now and that video helped clear up a couple of problems i've been having.
