Congrats dibiase.

In the forum you asked how I achieved the bassline. I pretty much did what you did by consolidating the low frequencies from the kick. Apply the sub sonic effect. Now you have a bass sound with some nice beef to it. I like to take this a step further and resample the bass sounds with something stacked on top to add more to the uber low bass. Once you got a cool note or sound, I pitch it up or down. I mostly use the chromatic ps but sometimes the pitch effect can do some cool things. Find a few notes that sound good together and viola! bass.

I mostly use my sp-404 as a handy little synth. I am continually amazed by the sounds coming from that little fucker.

I'd ask any of the other US resident winners if you can let them send you the prize through their address and then pay the shipping costs to them yourself.

congrats dudes! this was a fun battle. again, the samples dudes chose were great, and offered a lot of interpretation. clearly there are a lot of dif styles on this forum, and cool to see it coming out. and congrats to dibiase for posting a solid beat and gathering up shitloads of votes. damn! most votes ever, maybe?

one thing i thought was interesting and cool was that for the most part, the dudes i voted for were the dudes who only got a few votes (which, of course, i only realized after my votes were cast and i could see the results). kinda like, i really liked those beats, but they weren't the ones that stood out for others, so maybe my tastes (and those beat-creators) are a lil bit dif from everyone else on here.

there's something along those lines in there that i think is pretty rad. (if that makes any sense, lol)
