I'd definitely want a 707 if it has like all the good things from 606 and 505 combined and then some. Probably will be expensive tho :-p

Of course I would definitely get a SP-707 if it would have these features:

1) Bloody ol' School PITCH-SHIFT aka KEYBOARD STYLE;
2) MORE MORE POLYPHONY (at least 16 voices);
3) Unlimited sample count stored on flash and folder support on flash cards;
4) A bit advanced sample editing like cut out selected part, fade in, fade out, save selected part as a different sample etc.;
5) A global master\eq effect to finalize your projects;

even if they would add a pitch shift only to the SP505 model i would GET IT STRAIGHT away. nosane.

but I guess I am asking too much from roland they only can make some cheap dj style ripoffs of akai samplers.



p.s. WTF?? how can 555 replace 505 ?? 555 is a total crap compared to 505.

It will either fall short on features or be too expensive methinks. Just look at the 555 - less features than both the 505 and 606, yet the same price (or even more expensive!!).

So, to add the features people want - the price will have to skyrocket...

@606 man - i need machine that incorporates it all like mpc's. btw. 555 should be compared to 404 as it is its direct successor. 505 and 606 are machines from different kind of level they are more suitable for studio productions. it is like comparing power of all cars together from different weight categories.

as I have started with 404 and now i also have 505 i need to expand my knowledge so I need something more advanced. some say that if machine is limited to something it helps their creativity. i have grown out of 404 and 505 (still using it tho) I made lots of beats on them but now i need something more feature rich. of course i can get an mp but what the heck, all my samplers are from roland i guess i should continue the legacy

Just as long as you'd pay my ticket to Miami .. (lol, unfortunately that's more expensive than buying one urself, you could buy 3 SP-555s for that money... )

I can really second this, the simplicity of the SP-555 is very much 404-like from what I hear and see everywhere. (i don't have a 404 )

The SP-555 is definitely not a successor to the 606, so.... expect a 707 sometime by the end of this year I guess!!

okay maybe i am askin' too much from roland, but, hey roland, take SP606 put back chop editing mode, make pitch function mode that will lay sample across all pads chromatically (would be cool like if you are recording a track and then press this func button together with the pad whoose sample you want to play pitched and without interupting recording you are able to record bassline or instr. solo using this sample), add a few voices (as I said atleast 16) and rename SP606 to SP707 and there you go.

you will have a more cheaper version of mpc 2000xl that shares most of the functions from the big bro'.

yes, i know it sounds like mv8000 or mv8800 but hell those suckas cost a fortune, we are too poor to spend money on them

ROLAND SP-707 would be a hit if it had previously mentiod features and costed same as ol 606 sucker. namean.
