the kaossilato is a funny machine, but yes, you can't compare with the other groovebox mentioned, you're right.
if you're searching for something funny, and you have yet some synth (or a groovebox) the kaossilator is ok, if not...better to look at a groovebox or a synth
anyway i had an sp-606 and you could find some fine synth/oscillator in, from what i remeber. you can even tweak it.plus you have d-beam.

Yeah, I already have some cool other stuff, such as the Roland V-Synth and Yamaha RS7000. Plus I sampled the Korg DS-10 (Nintendo) today, and it was actually very good sound quality-wise. There are also several other apps for the Nintendo, I recommend this unit to everyone.

for the nintendo i don't know this thing well (generational gap), but i've hared, even in this forum, that is amazing.

Yeah, it is really cool. In fact, I only use it for music, I never play any games. As soon as possible I'll be picking up the memory card adapter, so I'll be able to run some of the cool homebrew programs. Check it out if you have the opportunity!

I got my 307 yesterday, these are my thoughts on it:

-Really good drums. Some of the drum patches are so good they don't even need EQ, nothing. Really punchy and clear (not clean ).

-Interesting synth sounds. Set aside the psy trance crap and you have some decent synths and keys that can be even more interesting if you tweak them. Wurlitzer rocks!

-Breathtakingly stupid interface. It takes ages. It's confusing. It's got a 140-page manual (wtf?). Nothing like my beloved sp 505.

-You have to save eveything. Yes, fellow boss mates, it doesn't save when you turn it off like the sp's. Already lost a couple of beats I started.

-In general, you can make good stuff with it but keep it simple or you'll visit the shrink soon.

it's basically the same as roland d2: few times i forget to record ("write" for the d2) the patterns and i set off the machine, and the patterns went away. maybe it's the same for all te grooveboxes(mc-303-505). for the an200 it's the same.

Yeah, it's the same for all grooveboxes; MC-808, MC-909, MC-505. You definitely need to press 'write' to save everything. You'll get used to it after a while though, I never forgot to press 'write' on my MC-808 yet.

Yeah, I couldn't agree more with you! I thought the MC-505 was bad, but the MC-808 is even worse when it comes to this. Quite crazy considering the device was meant for live usage also!

the yamaha an200 got a phucking almost 200 pages manual, never read it (i should), but for a toy like this it's too much...
