I often take a sample and resample it with a different effect to turn it in to some unrecognisable monster of a sound. The only time I've used resample to make a whole beat was during the SP Battle with that Industrial Power sample, I took a tom hit, and changed it into a kick, hat and a snare. I never submitted the beat tho.

if you want a glitchy bassline like minimal or dubstep your going to have to resample your bass at least 8 times so you have something like

1. dry

2. short delay

3. phaser

4. filter sweeps

etc

then switch between them on each beat.

same for drums too you can get nasty sounds that way
