I use the 808, just for the sampling and effects, I dont sequence on it because its a NIGHTMARE. you got any links to your beats/tracks?
i remember like 8-9 years ago I took this communications/public speaking class and this raver kid who dj'ed happy hardcore and hard trance gave a presentation on why the sp-808 is far superior to the MPC 2000xl...at the time I didn't know anything about hardware, but looking back it's brings to mind a big WTF.

HAHA, sp 808 is a really bad sequencer, doesnt touch the 2000.

I only have one beat which I entirely made on the 808, using the sampler, effects processor and sequencer, took forever though and it still arough draft beat, those hi hats were murder to sequence!

your beat is nice, mellow as..

I wish I was making beats like that when I first started out!

all the beats I made on a DAW are on my myspace.com/bronsonbogarde

how much did u pay for ur 808? I want one.

i will post some pics soon! 8)
but, s**t, here in europe (france) those pieces of gear are more expensive!
...for examples:
AKAI MG1214 about 500euro ....(625usd)
Vestax Faderboard 400euro ....(508usd)
...and i talk about USED (2nd hand) machines, even not newly machines....

this come directly from 1996....good sound (16bit), very useful for live use, maybe a little-far sp-1200 (but at the time i never figured out what an sp-1200 was!!) and a brother of the akai s20...
The Akai remix 16.
i found news about it almost only in the loopers delight site.

hi
i've tried with imageshack but the picture is appears still little...
what to do?

the akai remix 16 was(is?)a 16bit sampler; it's nearly the same (conceptually spaking)of akai s20.
it's a poor phrase sampler without metronome and 16 pads in the mpc vein but not sensibles. i bought it in 1996, i think it was the same year of mpc 2000xl, but at that time i ignored what the mpc world was....
here more infos!

and his brother the s20

All this gear is awesome, I love seeing unique music equipment I don't know of since I'm pretty much a geek when it comes to researching music machines.
