ya, I went from using live and reason to the MPC and then right back to the software...lol. The MPC turned into a midi controller :) I actually like the sound I was getting out of software better. Then my friend offered me his 404 for cheap and I was interested and pulled out my old 303 and threw a beat together...decided to go with the 404 and the rest is history.

can you give some idea or a link on how this idea works?, cause i hear it about, but never understood how it'd work.

ok sorry, i meant how hard is it to learn as i don't use soft much yet but am planning on moving sorta that way. i was kinda thinkin of coppin a 606 as they're so cheap right now. but i feel less than sure after rereading some of the 606 threads.

I'm sure the 606 works great but if you want to go in a software direction you might want to just buy software since you already have a hardware sampler, no matter how well the p606 software works with the Sp-606 it still won't give you all the features of a full version Live 6 or Pro-Tools.

i own an sp 505 ,606 and mpc 1000 the 1000 smokes the 606 hands down especially after you get the newest jj os which basically turns your mpc 1000 into an mpc 2500 one of the added benifits of getting the mpc 1000 with the jj os is you get a 8 track audio recorder plus when you use chop mode you chop stay in stereo unlike the 606 which turns them to mono i still use the sp 505 cause its like having an sp but as for the 606 jus cop an mpc 1000 . cause when last have scen a os for the 606 that was really worh while installing.

The 1000 with the JJ OS has some pretty nice features.

1000 smokes the 606? Crap it does. A better sequencer does not make a better sampler.

You can never, with any os, get a 1000 to thump like the 606 does. 606 wins hans down in the sound department, the only one that really means anything. The JJ os just makes the MPC even more of a convoluted nightmare to work with. Workflow is much better on an SP.

The 1000 is an overhyped piece of garbage, I hate that machine

How's about we make a beat, using the same samples, on both machines? - the truth is easy enough to hear

the 1000 is a sick machine. I like that it can resample itself and I like the master FX a lot too(especially the compressor). I always get a good mix from that machine.

Maaaaaaaan...

I have the 2500. I really like it. Problem wwith the 1000 are the pads and OS. Both can be replaced (the pads are replaced on the newer 1000s)

The sound is just like the 2000, which can't be that bad if a lot of cats made great music with it huh?
