I couldn't sleep cause of that shit..

Maybe it's the MPC OS that got sth. to do with it? Does anyone got the JJOS 4.xx? Would be cool if anyone could try that shit on a different OS. (I'm running 3.06 by now).

(Maybe some mpc heads know better?

In that case I would copy the content of the 32MB to a different card and look if that new card works, you might have to format on 404 and MPC before doing so. Did you try both ways? 404 then MPC, MPC then 404?

Cheers

Yeah man I tried all of that...
Can it be that AKAI card is different than other CF cards????

That shit won't let me chill... I already contacted AKAI.  Let'S see what they come up with. To be honest I expect nothing...

It might be a special card that will always work in your MPC... but there's no way to find out, without possibly screwing things up I'm afraid. :(

This is a mighty peculiar situation. You might as well contact Roland about this too, Wax.

Oh man, I spent nearly the whole day trying to figure out what's the deal with this. Roland and AKAI replied very quickly but they got no conclusion, too... as I said 32MB of pure magic... Really weird.
Hopefully some other cats got some interest in this thing too, cause I mean it's like the ultimate missing piece if you got both machines. I don't wanna be a pain in the ass anymore, so I better wait for people who got a real solution for this... I feel like this could be very innovative... yeah it could be...

Awesome find Wax! do you know if it keeps the start/end points from the 404 or leaves the whole sample for you to trim again?

It "only" works with exported samples... trancuate / discard them in the 404 before exporting and you're fine... Do you still have your AKAI Card? Does it work for you, too? I just got a new mail from AKAI and they say that the 32MB AKAI Card IS NOT special in any way. CRAAAAZY!!!

So what is it, that makes it work with that Card?!

Maybe it's the size???

I have no idea why it works, but it does! i'm running jjos2 1.18 (latest) for the mpc2500 and it's great. I suppose i'll still use my reader for quick renaming before i throw the samples in the mpc. but hey i'm still saving time AND sound quality. even if the card had less space i think it'd be worth it.

Yeah it's great.. but there must be a logic answer to this...

Someone should extract an image from a card that works... not sure if this is possible with a flash card, but probably it is.

You know you can make an ISO file from DVDs and CDs, something similar might be possible with flash cards. The resulting image file may give us clues as to why it works... or not. LOL.

8) Go Inspektor, Go!!!

I bought two 64MB CF Cards (Lexar) for only 2€... and you know what...?!
They work in both machines, too. :D
Seems like the size (or the age ?!) is the key to this...
So 32MB and 64MB Cards are compatible!

Just wanted to let you know...

why don't you just midi the SP404 to the MPC and sequence the sounds on the SP404 with your MPC? seems like that's the easiest solution without all the hassles.
