Had to go with Asha C
The beat at 40 secs transported me back to an sp era of lofi microwaves and spliff driven drum loops and samples squeezed to ‘fit’
The fact that he said he was a hi fi guy and then put out a tape was amazing
..like you’re using your shitty equipment and having fun with it. Even if you were pissing in trees.. or whatever the expression is. Sounded unique to me.
Checked twice to make sure username checked out.
Why people get a sP and try and make it sound all mixed and mastered never made sense to me.
Touché for the rebuttal

Runner up nef kudos - thought the switch in pitch could’ve happened a little sooner for my A D D
What a resonant world we live in
I’ll be visiting your used refrigerator store s00n for another microwave

Sleeps - had me hi kick hooked by Fang during first half. Kinda loosy goosed me by the end.
Continue?! Does this thing take quarters?

Ishambi has the cleanest signal flow

Props to chopper for constantly bringing the lyrics of a calm grade 10 science teacher over perfect loops

Unfolding for the genius plan of attack.
Who killed SP?

Let’s speed the next 1 up IMO

Thanks! Thought Id step out of the comfort zone! The reason I use the SP is for its immediacy, if I wanted it perfectly mixed etc id use a computer but I havent really got the patience to sit at computers! Sounds like a few this round that tried to do something different to their usual styles which I thought was great!

The 303, 404 and SX are literally 16-bit, 44.1khz machines, lol. You're putting the cart before the horse, methinks. What came first? The chicken (16-bit, 44.1khz sample) or the egg (lo-fi button, w&f, DJFX, zzzzzz)?

Seems like Asha is guilty by association. Sorry, chap!
Up yer bumz.

haha it's ok! I tried to step outside the comfort zone, like I actually said would be a good idea in the last round and get knocked for that too, will stick to BOC cosplaying, even if i dont get any votes with that stuff haha.

Better than cosplaying as a broken Bulgarian tape deck from 1978 over and over again.

My vote was for Ashley.
We have a tie, and honestly, I wanted to give you the win!
I’m also having some time constraints, and since the upcoming round is going to be a landmark one, I believe it should be hosted by someone truly worthy. I’m sure someone already has something prepared for #404.

Whoever’s ready, step forward?

Unfolding, thank you for the round!
Kudos and Sleeps Numb, thanks for spelling my nickname correctly.

My bad for being late to the poll and also for not understanding / following the set up. My ass so dumb it took me longer than I'd like to admit to even realize Sam Pull was a play on words. Anyway, what a dope round! Honestly was impressed with all of them and enjoyed the listenings. Here's my half-assed attempt at a some form of synopsis...
Asha - Trippy intro seemed to give birth to the story the other parts tell.
Ishambi - So smooth! Need this on my work playlist. Scratches just perfect.
U J F R - So much fun its audibly contagious! Had me geekin'.
Unfolding - Huge sound! First part feels super expansive to me. Excellent mixing. Another wonderful story told through beat.
KUDOS - Neck snapper for sure! Slowed down to back breaker. Love the Illmatic sample placed with perfection!
Sleeps - Brilliant work. Another impeccable story told. Clearly masterful work. Saved maybe the best loop for last then didn't even loop it. My man.
Salute to the comrades. This shit rules.

Sleeps has never had a 2 month long bb
But he has won multiple times back to back for 2 months so maybe you’re a little confused

Looking forward to a quick and dirty 404

Congrats ishihambi and Asha Cashapp
