There was also a tie in votes for people who would have a chance at a bye round. So when I generated the pairs using the 5 of you I kept going until Dutch and Culp were both paired off and one of the people with 3 Votes was left out : Sorry Kel.

That's what I think..... we have to somehow incorporate our wrestlers finishing move in the track..... weather it be the "sound" of the finishing move (body slammin on mat) or vocals.....

I wish we had more limitations/ specific requirements or something... not sure what to sample, already used both my themes

I suggest for each pair for sampling to choose a music theme of some ppv, for example, the royal rumble, summerslam or the same wrestlmania

or we could use a different wrestler's theme for each pair to sample and compete on... We've done this in this past for the street fighter, mortal kombat and smash bros battles...

Personally, I think it makes sense to adopt our wrestler's personality & make whatever music we feel is appropriate to rep them... AND REP HARD! I was just gonna do some bagpipe shit with wrestling sound effects. Sounds simple, but to me that seems pretty appropriate. We can each do a lot within those constraints I think, while still maintaining the integrity of the theme. All the youtube stuff I found sucked. I'd rather build on the theme with creative freedom to find other samples.

Edit: To clarify... the youtube stuff sucked as far as source music value... there was a plethora of good dialogue and fighting sounds.

i realize more n more everybody has a dif impression of what a battle beat is.
i came here to talk crazy shit, chop crazy samples and maybe slap somebody's synth off the table

the sample pool idea works if people pick decent samples. it wasnt a perfect system but it worked wt smashbros battle\video game theme.
making a beat out of just wrestling sounds\themes seems more like a resample challenge

How about we make a universal drum and bass kit then we keep it going until 1 is left standing. We could get 2 random songs or things to sample every round and we keep our wrestling personas. A Royal Rumble!

I've been keeping on eye on the thread dont worry.

Next round you guys are gonna get the limitations you're asking for and I won't hold back. I have a bunch of wrestling samples I can share and ideas for how they can be used as a limitation for the next three rounds



As for drums from round 2 and on - if someone/some people want to put this together you're more than welcome and much appreciated. But personally I'm shit at drums.



It's just the first round, embody the character, re use your theme if you need to, be creative my computers fucked right now so I cant really search at the moment and bring up specific examples for all of your characters. But I'm sure you guys can come up with something


Hulk Hogan theres a tv series from the 80s called Rock N Wrestling, stars also ANDRE THE GIANT, idk who else is on it.


PAPA SHANGO theres gotta be great tribal stuff you can find, shakers, bugs, idk lol. the sentilese just killed alabama guy who believed they were the devils last stronghold

Capture the essence of your character, wether it be fire, a mental patient, a witch doctor, a model, and bring it out through the track. use whatever you can think of to best do that.
