i am curious about rules too. the whole chop whatever sample is alittle too open for me personally. i dont care about equipment used so much if there is some SP flavor on it.

perhaps it will be a little forward, I propose to sample only the material relating to wrestling. the first thing that comes to mind is the musical themes of wrestlers entrances, and the soundtracks of the ppv events, like wrestlemania 25 theme or smtn.

I'm down for whatever rules... Being allowed outside samples/gear is guaranteed to yield more heat and keep it going. There are both positives and negatives to the old fashioned rules, a positive for me being that it's a lot of fun to try to and "decode" the creative processes between opponents, knowing that they both have the exact same samples to work with. And the main negative for me being that sometimes you just don't feel the sample, or wish you could expand on it in your own way but it's not allowed, and you lose interest.....

completely agree. if the sample radically does not match my mood, no matter how I turn it around, I will not be satisfied with the process, or even more with the result

If it's sp only I'll still do it, but would prefer to be able to use other equipment as well for MANY reasons. Since this is an sp battle I think an sp should be the main tool tho. & being able to use additional gear doesn't necessarily make things easier...... just brings more possibilities and I definitely get more out of the battle.

Some could say it's not fair for the people that ONLY have an sp & nothing else. But there are also the people that ONLY have 1 sp and people with multiple sp's so.......
