I finished my rough mix of the tape two weeks ago.. just got home from a trip to Canada (legal weed, omg.. when will Scandinavia catch up??!) where I listened to the mix a bunch of times while wandering around Vancouver and decided just need to throw in a few more adlibs and master; deadline 31st works for me, but no problems from my end if folks need more time!

Looking forward to hearing these - the vinyl selections posted so far look Hella promising!

Sharris - I can turn the most innocent statement dirty, it is one of my immature yet lovable characteristic qualities (at least until someone complains to HR).

Lif - Unless there are some hidden lurkers that are about to throw down on G/B'z (that stands for Ghost Bazz) challenge it seems there are only the four of us. I had to grab a few different records from the goodwill as my original
$4 dollar purchase was pure shit.
I think all of us can slop together some complete mixes by the 31st but if it really is only the 4 of us we should make this shit good and compile it into a mix.
If your cool with fine tuning your mix, then I and Sharris (who you know comes with the fire on her beats) would love more time to create.

If you flew all the way over here why didn't you hit up Bazz, Sharris on the west for that hook up, or come to Colorado where we started that "Medical Marijuana" game!!!

Yes on legal weed! And extending the deadline. I’m probably going to b a week past the end of the month too. Props lif for getting ur shit in order so quickly. Ur clearly a vet & ur catalog speaks to that. I say the rest of us keep trucking along til we get to the finish line.

I'm glad someone posted early cause I have a question.

Using lifs track one as example, where the guy comes in and speaks. Are samples like that okay to use from outside? I just can't tell if that came from one of the records or not. I've been scouring through stores for a record to use for that purpose for $1.

If that is allowed, thaan shit yall just freed me up with one extra dollar to spend.

Webster's definition of an "A Cappella" is "without instrument accompaniment". Using that definition, spoken word would be an "A Cappella".

Nice Lif! I got inspired listening to your mix, so I didn't finish listening. In the middle of your mix I got the itch to work on mine I'll give it a good listen this week.

I should be done with my mix by this weekend as well. I have the basics of 11 beats done, but need to add sprinkles & fine tune them.

With respects to vocals I understood it as vocals/acapellas are separate from the $5 vinyl limit. I think Ghost Bazz states this above somewhere.

If doin full marathon you can only use sounds from the $5 vinyl stack PLUS vocals/acapellas.

If doin half marathon you can add sounds from other sources as well like drums & bass PLUS vocals/acapellas. But the main melody/sounds of each beat need to be from the $5 vinyl stack.

Yooooooo would you guy's mind if I only used cassettes??? I got about 4 tapes and a small tape player for $4.50 at the thrift store a couple weeks back. The tape recorder had a walking tape inside too. lol It be perfect if you let me slide. I got about 5 mins of material tonight alone. Let me know. I can post pics for verification too. No worries if its a strictly vinyl thing.
