Glad to get some feedback in the positive there; looks like we're (all) on the same page pretty much, which is nice to hear. Of course participation in the battle is entirely optional - there have been many, many times I've either not bothered or struggled to call forth something I'm pleased enough to submit and simply bowed out. Great hearing these entries - everyone hears something different!
My girlfriend was spinning Tame Impala the other day; I think I took some inspiration from there with my take.

Ran the sample thru the looper to pull out the 'synth' tones which form the basis and did lots of microchopping of vox on the 808 for layers/stabs. Drums I banged out live on the 555 while bouncing to the 303, final structure/progression assembled on 404.
