I didn't think about it that way, but it would be interesting though. We would have to start with even players to make it work. Same with SNES vs SEGA. It might be hard getting folks evenly distributed among teams.

You all should wait until after the theme vote to start picking characters.

Just to keep it fair if we do go down that lane.

If it ends up being decided that we go villains vs heroes (cool idea, I like it) I'm ok with being on either side. Make it a bit easier, so everyone can choose & I'll join which ever side that's short a person.

Tbh i think the snes / sega theme is ok but if we take only video games samples i wouldn't participate, it's too limited in term of music and we did this so many times on sp-forums (just put sp video game flip in the search bar)

i am back from the dead for this!!!

the forum gets crazy during these themed battles

i do enjoy some limitations, on samples or equipment

(otherwise some canadian with zeros in their name will kill me wt their microsampler

)

team battles sounds difficult
all of this is just opinion tho. i am down to battle again with some brethren for the sake of it.

i voted video game theme. @ lowcost we could shake up sample selection and still keep the game character theme if vgm is too played out for yal

also shout out to wax inspector, that guy sure can host a party. rak made alot of art for the mk tourney. its all appreciated. i can barely finish a beat. u guys are the mvps for getting it going

Wax inspector is around here?I've seen some other championship he organised in the past

I'm up for anything goes, samples, machines, whatever. Just bring a battle beat and represent your character.
